Fixed Translation System is the state-of-the-art solution concerning the transfer of the extruded bars from the die exit to the stretching step while keeping them tensioned all the way, so avoiding distortion and permitting automatic no-man stretching.
The system sharply reduces the width of the line, as the stretcher is placed at 1.5 metres only from the run-out way.
Therefore, the fixed translation system can pick up the extruded bars and deposit them directly in the stretcher jaws.
The reason why the stretcher is so near to the run-out way is that the extruded sections are quenched at a very fast rate in an air/water tunnel, immediately after their exit from the press.
The "hot" saw therefore cuts the profiles when they are already near to room temperature, consequently no cooling benches are needed between run-out and stretcher.
Hot sawing takes place during dead cycle time.
The 3-puller system has a double-length run-out way, with two pullers on one side and one on opposite side, so constantly keeping the bars under tension and avoiding deformation during the quenching and runout stages.
Next, the Fixed Translation System grips the bar ends from the two pullers and keeps them under tension during transfer to the stretcher.
Handout marks affect no more than 500 - 600mm of each extrusion end, thanks to the narrow width of the vices that grip the bars.
An innovative feature is that the construction of the F.T.S. is 90% aluminium, exploiting the lightness and strength properties of this metal.
Stated this, F.T.S. system new concept start on the exit of the press with a double length extrusion system to a automatic no man stretcher.
Fully reliable automatic system without operator intervention means higher productivity at lower cost.
Reduced handling of the material means higher quality at lower cost of production.
